RO Report by Mark Weisinger

WOW what a Match.

400 Shooters, 18 Stages, 400 Rounds...

A mixture of all of Europe’s top shooters and some even from New Zealand, Canada and USA.

The Shooting Ranges are GREAT.

On many, you can shoot downrange and into the side walls, so the Stages can simply be designed to be Great Stages... and they were.

The stage design and the construction must have taken long time to make. A big hand to Herbert and his building team.

Friday, the Pre-Match.

Wake up at 06.00, breakfast at 06.30. Leave for the range at 07.00. We start on Stage 12 at 08.00.

A long course and shot around in a circle until we ended on Stage 11 a medium course.

The Match, (Pre and Main Match) is very well organised.

When you arrive at your stage, your names stand in a Squad Numbered envelope, in the IROA shooting order, so there is no fuss or time wasting. A simple equipment check and you are ready for your stage briefing.

On Saturday and Sunday I worked on Stage 17 with 4 others, (1 IROA, 2 NROI and one Helper).

It was a long Course consisting of 4 Full IPSC Targets, 4 Half IPSC Targets, 4 Pepper Poppers, 3 mini Poppers and some No Shoot Targets. It was reasonably complicated to shoot, as many poppers activate various targets, so there were several ways to shoot this stage.

It was 2 days of running squads, scoring, patching, re-spraying poppers, resetting targets.

We had a problem, when a special Popper broke and needed to be re-welded and some wires broke, but we worked as a team and made up the time. Other than that, the stage worked really nicely.

I worked with some really nice people, had some really nice food and had a wonderful match.

The prize table was really nice, including a raffle for a CZ Pistol and a SVI Infinity.

I can't wait for next year...
